Our history, is at best… shattered. Almost a decade ago we lost the libraries of the Great Cities of Saronae, and the University Universalis of Altorra burnt as monstrous shadows hunted the streets. What we have been left with is little more than a few errant books that made it out here to the Frontier, and what our elders can recall from fading memories. 

What follows is an accounting of all that I have been able to compile. It is far from complete. Perhaps one day my successors will improve upon what I have collected.

The boy speaks truth, but I find many of his statements to not quite grasp the full picture. In his records he appears to have missed many details, which is understandable. He obviously did not have many years of training as a Librarian or Annalist, nor did he apparently see much of the world before the Curse fell upon us all. I have provided what I can from memory of studying the great histories, but I fear the collected works of our predecessors will fade and crumble to dust before anyone is able to study them. Sometimes I wish I had secreted away a few volumes from Denares the Scribe or Amigio Tenas as I fled… the Realm might have had a bit of a brighter future if we could but learn a bit more of our past.

Rough Timeline of History

0 – The Empire is founded by Emperor Vicarian of House Eldstone

210 – Beginning of the First Great Expansion

1150 – Beginning of the Second Great Expansion

1170 – Believed start date of the Khemasuri migration from Akhera.

1202 – Death of Kadicus Sethos, author of “On War”.

1412 – First recorded notation of the Khemasuri in Imperial lands.

2194 – Death of Cyarnos and rise of the Cyarnists

2504 – Beginning of the Third Great Expansion

3230 – Claim of the Bastard, when the Bastard Reynard usurped Astor Eldstone.

3249 – An Ughol horde rises in the West, and lays waste to a dozen villages, and took three years to conclude after warchief Gorvox Bloodmoon was slain by Darius Atynos. For his deed, Darius Atynos would be raised to the position of Lord and founds House Atynos.

3902 – Death of Emperor Vitares, Emperor Corevius assumes the throne

3912 – Death of Irren Striona, Grand Counselor to both Emperor Vitares and his son Emperor Corevius.

4156 – Theosus Eldstone begins to gather support in what would become the War of the Three, in which two separate factions claim the Empress illegitimately holds the throne.

4162 – The War of the Three ends with Immara Eldstone still holding the title of Empress.

4999 – Emperor Hiram Eldstone dies without an heir and the Warlock King Vaerlys assumes the throne. This leads directly to the Charlatan War.

5010 – The Seige of the Ebon Tower, the Warlock King Vaerlys slain and the Curse falls upon the Realm.

5025 – Game Begins
