“Beware the wrath of storms and of a scorned woman.”

She cut her way forth from the darkness, a sword of light and crackling energy in hand. For long she had warred within the Outer Darkness, and she followed Vardur as he escaped. When she emerged to a conclave of the rest of the Divines, she brought with her a cold wind that met with the fires of Marath and made a cloud of angry steam that was captured and used to power Marath’s engines.

When the world was created, and Ghesheya wept for the beauty of it all, Yshanga stole some of her tears and went down to dance above the world. As she dances, she flings the tears out from a great silver bowl called Bastrus, and they fall upon the world as rain, and when Bastrus is empty, she refills it from the seas.

She regularly attempts to sway the attention of Vardur, joining him in battle as often as fighting against him. She visits his mountains, and offers him a drink from her bowl. When he declines her offer, she pours it upon his mountains, letting it run back to the sea. Once she refills Bastrus once more, she flies off in a fit of rage and unleashes her torment upon the world.

Appearance

A tall and lithe woman with skin the color of a darkened storm, wearing a helmet bearing four wings. Her armor is made of rough steel forged in the rain and fabric made of woven clouds. In one hand she bears Durmandr, a sword forged from lightning. Upon her belt are the heads of a thousand and one creatures from the Outer Darkness.

Her symbol is a sword with a blade resembling lightning.

Followers

Those that venerate her often wear clothing dyed in the same colors as sky and storms, and will tie ribbons of blue and gray around their limbs.

Common Practices

Those that dwell near the water will often have a bowl made of cold forged metal sitting upon a small altar somewhere near their front door. Each day as they rise, they wash their face with the water, and when the bowl is empty, they refill it and praise both Yshanga and Ghesheya.

Homes of her followers will often have a number of ribbons above the door frame, generally the same colors as the sky.

When an area has been without rain for too long, her followers will often dance outside with long streamers made of fine cloth, have mock battles with people clothed in dark colors to represent her fighting the creatures of the Outer Darkness, and make offerings of wine. All of this is done in hopes that Yshanga will visit to watch their plays and portrayals, grow drunk on the wine, and tip over her bowl Bastrus and let some rain spill down upon them.
