Skathos was once a beautiful man, with skin the color of gold and long locks the color of honey. He traveled into the Outer Darkness to find a way to forever seal it away from the Realm, but he was caught by a creature of terrible wickedness, Xi’Hurram the Flesh Eater. Skathos was flayed alive, and all that was left of him were bones that he managed to bind together using a rope made of spider silk. He escaped the Outer Darkness but is forever cursed to be little more than a walking skeleton.

While he was slain in his vain attempt to protect the realm from the Outer Darkness, he could not rest as the dead. Instead, he passes through the world, looking for lost souls so that they may be guided to the Far Realms. Those who refuse to follow are bound by impenetrable silken rope and turned into puppets that he carries along to their final destination.

Appearance

He always appears as a walking skeleton, sometimes clothed in little more than a tattered robe or bound together with silken rope. On occasion, he holds a marionette by the strings.

His symbol is that of a skull bound in rope.

Followers

Few follow the First Death, save for those who perform funeral rites over the corpses of the fallen.

Common Practices

Those that speak final words over a corpse often bind their hands and feet together, so that Skathos has an easier time of taking them to the Far Realm.
