What we consider Heritage is often a… misclassification at best. It is a manner of simplification over a handful of different creatures that all have very similar features.

Firstly, we have Humans. All humans, barring reasons for infertility, are capable of producing offspring with other humans in the normal methods. What we refer to as Cultures are the most accurate terminology here, as such is a classification of upbringing, with possible ancestry involved. For example, an infant with Saronean parents could be raised among a Khemasuri caravan, and would likely be indistinguishable from the other Khemasuri during adulthood.

The Ar-Nura kept detailed genealogical records for extensive periods of time. They claim that at some time in their history, the three peoples diverged, the reasoning being muddied and conflicting at best, and being called the War of the First Blood. While there are a number of poems and songs about Eisolae and Jhani’ada having forbidden romantic trysts, I have only heard of one such union bearing fruit. Unfortunately, the information regarding such is a footnote at best, and thus I must conclude that for some reason the Firstborn cannot sire children of mixed ancestry. This would also explain their diminished role in the world.

The Stoneborn almost entirely call themselves Dargadian. While the Akhunrasi and Kahrnuthaen seem to share their capacity for craftsmanship, the similarities seem to end there, and I have no information on any Stoneborn with mixed parentage. I can only assume that they are actually three different peoples that have intermingled for long enough that outsiders believe them all to have a singular source.

I devoted as little time as I could to the study of the Ughol. It would seem that the vast majority of them are of the Voruk, and appear to breed true. Meanwhile, the Gragrimn dwell in overcrowded warrens and reproduce at excessive rates.

The Rystarri are an unusual oddity that were completely unknown until fairly recently when they migrated from the lands of the rising sun. From what I have been able to gather, they are all of the same people, with occasional births resulting in “Messengers”, those blessed with pale fur who are gifted visions from their Ancestors.
